El Chibo song Explanation by Juan Royce Holtz, J.D.

“El Chibo” means something ‘cool’ or ‘awesome’ in Spanish. More specifically, it means “The Goat.” This could be interpreted as an acronym for Greatest of All Time….There is a futbol sutre-americana team called, El Chibo, but I digress…

This is my only song I sing entirely in Spanish! El Chibo by Popper Juan Royce Holtz “es mas inteligente y tiene mucho fuerte. El come la montanya y todos los adentro.” This translates into English, “The Goat is more intelligent and has much strength. He eats the mountain and everything within/inside…Sounds to me like the Goat is definitely a “He/Him.”

They say the Ancient Greek philosopher, Socrates, had a face like a goat…He was always asking everyone he met questions, in hopes that he would summon even rhetorical threshold, answers from them. Or, if Socrates already knew the answers to the questions he asked, he tried relentlessly to elicit otherwise oblivious thoughts from everyone he met, in hopes that they would strain their noggin in the process. Socrates was finally sentenced to death and forced to drink hemlock—The question I have is why did the genius have to die? What did the thinking man do that was so horrific, but ask the tough questions that everyone must face at uncertain times in their lives?!

Would it not be nice to harbor a pet goat whose leash around its collar is the only impeding factor allowing it to prance all over creation, eating everything in sight? May goats not be domesticated?….As a bold, compelling, avant-garde, humourous Writer, I feel like I may even become domesticated with the right soulmate…I may very well like becoming voluntarily whupped if spellbound…

***I added that “Comi el Chibo en el restaurante! Dios Mio! Lo siento! Fue muy deliciouso! (In English, this translates into, “I ate the goat in the restaurant. Oh my; G-d! I am sorry! It was very delicious!”): But that part almost seems to be stricken/slashed out of one version of the song by some unknown interloper….! I guess I’m not supposed to be too dramatic, even though the restaurant in question is a specialty, delectable Indian one.

Goat is an animal that is especially prepared to become eaten on notable occasions in Indian, Ethiopian, and Eritrean restaurants….

They really know how to prepare that goat! I do not know if I am going to love it more either as a savory and cooked, pet stuffed animal that I would like to reconstitute after the fact or rather as it is scrumptiously going down the hatch, with spartan remorse! Dios Mio! “No sign of the morning coming….Like a Rainbow in the Dark!”

Replete with well-meshed keyboard and guitar riffs intertwined with precision ambiance, as well as cloud-like, progressive, midi synthesizer chords and guitar solos, this Latin tune is primed for the charts as well as the road less traversed by a mere mortal, American song writer!
